Funny, @lindydreyer and I were just talking yesterday about whether the concept of the Social Media release had died... I guess not! Maybe the world was just not ready for it yet... Will be interested to see what happens.

I desperately want to believe in the value of the Social Media Release but can honestly say I'm not sure they're all that great. Trust me, as a former reporter/blogger I love the concept - but I can't say using a Social Media Release has gotten me any more traction with the media. I'll definitely check out PitchEngine. Again, in concept I think the SMR is the way to go, I'm just not sure the results are worth the hype.

This is really great news & congratulations to both of you! I believe I speak for many in the PR world that would say this is a marriage of two of the most admired PR professionals today. I'm anxious to learn about the new things you'll be bringing to the table for Jason & his team. Cheers!

Jason Kintzler is a great guy. His startup really knocked it out of the park in terms of helping the average joe understand a press release and then turning it into a virtual social tool. Glad you took the time Brian. Great post.
