This post is particularly satisfying, Brian. Not necessarily because you offer a quick-solve, but because you tell us to DO what we - theoretically - got into this gig TO do; namely, communicate. I've been mulling that pretty obvious purpose lately. Sure, I am passionate about the particular mission and vision at the non-profit where I currently work, and that's what I am there to communicate - not the senior leader. When I keep my passion focused on really communicating WITH "target publics" (glech!), THAT's when goodPR happens. I think to some degree, many of us PR types have slaved long and hard to earn a (much needed) spot at the corporate exec.table, the important thing -now that we're there - is to stay keyed into the passion that (should have) launched us into this vocation, and not lose our soul to the execs who would often love us to be well-versed "spin" pros (double glech!)
