Chris Heuer sent a note that the Web 2.2 agenda is coming together based on several high quality proposals that were made for the talk topics. But, they also need your input (see below).
If you have suggestions, all is not lost, as there will be open space sessions that will run concurrently (except for the Thursday morning BrainJams which they encourage everyone to participate in, and possibly the ‘Surprise!’ sessions.)

I’d like to see a discussion of new opportunities for Tags outside of Technorati.
Greg Narain of BlueWhale Labs and Social Roots and I were speaking about the idea of Tag Beacons recently during the Webguild Web 2.0 event and how they could benefit conference organizers during pre- and post- show blogosphere coverage.

O’Reilly’s Web 2.0 conference will be in town and it will completely fly over the heads of those who are truly behind the new web and the real source behind the percolating enthusiasm in the Valley.
Chris Heuer saw the opportunity to create an annual event specifically for those people who are already looking beyond “web 2.0.” Based on last year’s successful Web 2.1 “un conference,” this year’s Web 2.2 event will be held on November 9th and 10th in San Francisco at 1 Market Street in San Francisco.
On the heels of its official launch, Social Media Club (SMC) formed the Media Release Working Group to begin development of the hRelease , a new standard for modernizing the traditional press release for a Web-centric world.
The Media Release Working Group will work closely with the Microformats community, while evaluating other technologies such as XPRL, XBRL, and NewsML to establish a standard way of organizing, tagging, distributing, and sharing ‘official’ organizational communications among blogs and other online communities. The group intends to present an initial draft specification on November 2nd at the Society for New Communications Research Symposium in Boston.
On the heels of the Silicon Valley NewTech Meetup in Palo Alto on Tuesday, I spent the day in San Francisco at the Social Media Club HQ specifically to attend my first SF event – well that and a million other things on the SF to do list.
Today I spent my day at the SocialMediaClub HQ working on the official announcement for the working group dedicated to developing a new, social media aware standard for press releases.
This is exciting stuff and I really believe that this is the sign of many new things to come that will (and already is) fundementally changing the PR industry and its targets.

It’s official! SocialMediaClub.org (SMC) launched today for the purpose of elevating Social Media to a higher level of professionalism. The organization will bring together different groups of social media practitioners such as bloggers, podcasters, publishers, journalists, students, artists, developers, marketers, and PR professionals.
The August STIRR mixer was held last night at Blue Chalk in Palo Alto and it was a HOT event – literally. No A/C on a hot August night…but still, the place was packed until the very end.

This was STIRR’s fifth event and appeared to be its biggest to date. What sets STIRR apart is that it is an effective mix of “live” social and business networking among a highly qualified crowd of tech innovators, Web 2.0 execs, entreprenuers, VCs, bloggers, and journalists.
