Bloomberg: Uber May Need Adult Supervision as Controversy Builds

Serena Saito at Bloomberg is taking a unique point of view on the #UBERGATE controversy by looking into the pros and cons of UBER hiring a senior executive such as Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg or Google’s Eric Schmidt. Saito contacted Shawn Carolan, a partner at Menlo Ventures, Paolo Parigi, an assistant professor in sociology at Stanford University, as well as Brian Solis.

“Uber has earned some frat culture publicity, and could benefit from hiring a woman on the board or an Eric Schmidt-type of executive,” said Brian Solis, an analyst at technology research firm Altimeter Group, referring to the former Google Inc. CEO who was brought in to aid founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin in the search company’s early years.
