Amidst photos of your friends’ babies, quizzes to let you know what Gilmore Girls character you are, you may have read or even posted your self the latest Facebook meme making its rounds. The viral posts asks users to list 10 concerts, 9 of which they have seen and one that is a lie and their ‘friends’ try to guess which one is the lie.

Oversharing on the internet has become commonplace and games like this at their core are an innocent way to get to know your network and start conversation. Online experts however, say that posting information like this could be a gift to hackers. The security question “What was your first concert?” is a common one and it could be possible you’ve unwittingly given hackers the answer.

[…]All of this information, added to other details that can be mined from a profile, could provide access to user passwords, financial information, or more. The Telegraph interviewed Brian Solis, a digital analyst, who advises people to give obscure answers to security questions. For example, when asked for your mother’s name, the answer could be ‘LemonMeringue’.
